How do I Configure Mail for Outlook Express?

Manually Configuring your Email Account

  1. Launch Outlook Express and go to Tools > Accounts – or- Email Accounts.
  2. Click on the “Add” button.
  3. Click “Mail”.
  4. Enter display name.
  5. Click “Next”.
  6. Enter email address.
  7. Click “Next”.
  8. Choose “POP” from the drop-down list.
  9. Enter both the incoming and outgoing server names: mail.domain.com -or - mailman.c4.net.
  10. Click “Next”.
  11. Enter account/user name (everything before the @ symbol in the email address).
  12. Enter the password.
  13. Put a check beside “Remember Password”.
  14. Click “Next”.
  15. Click “Finish”.
  16. You are back to the “Internet Accounts” window.
  17. Double click on the email address you just created.
  18. Click on the “Servers” tab.
  19. Put a check beside “My server requires Authentication”.
  20. Click on the “Advanced” tab.
  21. Change the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server port number from 25 to 587.
  22. Click “OK”.
  23. Send a test email from the new email address to the new email address.
