There's a new search engine being developed by British physicist Stephen Wolfram, which attempts to make better sense of searching the internet than Google. The new search engine, currently called "Wolfram Alpha", is expected to launch in about two months.
Wolfram Alpha will rely on a different set of under-the-hood mechanics than any existing search engine today. Wolfram has developed the new search engine on top of very complex mathematical and scientific engines, which will attempt to understand and answer natural language questions that people input. This ability to handle natural language processing is where Wolfram Alpha hopes to differentiate itself from other search engines.
