Introducing The Flex - Way to Go!
The Flex is a brand new bus service for the Lower and Outer Cape Cod communities. The new Flex buses offer public transporation to destinations in Brewster, Eastham, Harwich, Orleans, Provincetown, Truro and Wellfleet. The Flex officially started running on June 1, 2006.
c4.net recently unveiled a new web site designed for The Flex, at www.TheFlex.org. Our goals for The Flex web site were to give it a look and feel that reflects the beauty of the Outer and Lower Cape, provide valuable information on the new service offerings, and make the site accessible for all visitors.
Accessibility played a very important role in how c4.net designed, coded, and tested this web site. The Flex web site conforms with all Level "A" Priority 1 checkpoints of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0, as put forth by the W3C. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international group who develops technologies, guidelines, and standards for the Web.
c4.net worked in collaboration with Chip Bishop Communications and Grouper Prepress Services on the content and design elements of the Flex web site. The web site provides both online and print versions of the Fares, Schedules, and Route Service maps.
Flex partners include The National Park Service, the Cape Cod National Seashore, Congressman William Delahunt, the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Transportation, the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority, Cape Cod Commission, The Cape Cod Transit Task Force, and many additional contributors who helped bring this new transportation option to the Cape.
