This week marked a coordinated online effort to raise awareness for Internet Slowdown in support of Net neutrality. Big ISPs want to take control over the internet speed and charge websites for faster service, slowing any site that doesn't pay down to a crawl.
On Wednesday, September 10th you may have noticed many websites displaying symbolic "loading" icons. Notable websites participating in this effort include Netflix, Mozilla, KickStarter, WordPress, Reddit, Tublr and Etsy.
For more information and to take action, please see the Battle for the Net website. This website does a great job at explaining the issue as it stands, along with providing information on how you can help take action.
