FBI Wants you to Scan your Computer

Wednesday, April 25, 2012

On July 9th, the FBI is planning to shut down DNS servers they are currently running which may, in turn, shut off your connection to the Internet if your computer is infected with the DNS Changer malware. In order to proactively determine if your machine is infected, the FBI is urging people and businesses to scan their computers using an online tool they (the FBI) are providing.

To check if your computer has been infected, please use the DNS Form available on the FBI website. In order to use this form, you will need to enter your computer's DNS settings. If you need assistance determining your DNS settings, please see the "DNSChanger Malware" PDF document provided by the FBI.

If you are looking for more technical details about DNS Changer malware, please see the "DNS Changer Malware" PDF document provided by the FBI.
